With our BBG director being from the UK - a nation of full of gardeners, plant nurseries, and garden shows - she was disappointed by the limited plant choices available in Atlanta. 

 

This meant starting a plant nursery and growing many previously unavailable species and even on occasion, getting US native plants shipped over from Europe because they weren't available in the nursery trade in the US.

 

Other local designers use the few local native nurseries which means they are very limited in plant selection choice. But when you want effective design and ecological function, diversity is key.

 

As a professional designer you want the largest plant palette you can choose from to paint with, and we now grow over 300 native species.
