SOIL REQUIREMENTS:

The Eryngium yuccifolium, also known as Rattlesnake Master, is a unique addition to any garden. This tough, drought-tolerant plant thrives in well-drained, sandy or gravelly soil, making it an excellent choice for xeriscaping projects.

 

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS:
It prefers full sun and can tolerate some light shade, making it a versatile option for a variety of garden settings.

 

SIZE:

Rattlesnake Master can grow up to 3-4 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide, creating a striking presence in any landscape.

 

BLOOM TIME/COLOR:

In mid to late summer, it blooms with small, greenish-white, spiky flower heads that add texture and interest to the garden.

 

COMPANION PLANTS:

As a bonus, it also attracts pollinators and beneficial insects. This plant pairs well with other native prairie species, such as Echinacea (Coneflower), Rudbeckia (Black Eyed Susan), and priarie grasses like Andropogon (Big Bluestem) and Schizachyrium (Little Bluestem).
